I have encountered a starange situation with Yosemite and Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client (version 3.1.002026). If the mac is using the internet connection of the iPhone (via WiFi or USB), when I connect with the client everything stops working, from the Internet to the traffic over the tunnel. If I disconnect from the VPN, all is well. Cisco's AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client is a Virtual Private Network (VPN) client that works on a wide variety of operating systems and hardware configurations. For more information about VPNs, see: Virtual Private Network at MIT. The new Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client and service will work under Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux. When Cisco establishes a VPN connection, it seems they edit '/etc/resolv.conf' to add the VPN's DNS servers. That doesn't work, and there's a warning to that effect in the Apple-generated 'resolv.conf' file. My work-around is to consult what Cisco added and manually add those servers through the Mac OS X Network Preference Pane.
I need to connect to different sites using Cisco VPN Client
All sites have different VPN settings: some require certificate authentication, some require group authentication, other use shared secret.
When I use Cisco's VPN Client 5.0.x for Windows I have no problem with access to all sites
Since I'm setting up Mac Built-In Cisco VPN client (for instance similar to wiki.mcs.anl.gov) I get troubles with some sites.
After I press 'Connect' button the system.log shows following:

Yep, have this issue too and so do many others (like Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client on OS X Yosemite - VPN not working if the Mac is connected via Iphone HotSpot and Yosemite, iPhone Hotspot and Cisco AnyConnect as well as many over at the Cisco forums). Given that the problem is specific to Yosemite, I'm looking to Apple to address the problem, but assume we'll have to wait on them for that.
My 'workaround' is to connect and then remote to a system in our Data Center by IP, but it's a less-than-ideal solution. Would love to hear a workable DNS fix if anyone finds it.
