The Complete List of Mini Split Manufacturers

This list is constantly evolving. As new mini split manufactures come into business we will add them to the list. If you know of a mini split manufacturer that is not on our list please leave a comment below so that we can get them added!

We try to provide an accurate synopsis about each and every manufacturer on this list. (Click any name on the list to scroll down and read the synopsis.) If you represent one of these manufactures please contact us, we would love to have your input!

Mitsubishi

Obviously you have heard this company’s name before. Mitsubishi a giant conglomerate based out of Japan. They were founded in the 1800’s by Yataro Iwasaki and got their start as a shipping company. Over the next 150 years they have grown into an international brand with over 600 companies under their umbrella.

All Mitsubishi companies utilize three basic principles. They are 3 different Japanese phrases that were penned by Koyata Iwasaki way back during WWII in the 1930 era. The three principles are: Shoki Hoko, Ritsugyo Boeki, and Shoji Komei. Shoki Hoko is their belief that they must be responsible to the societies that they do business in. Ritsugyo Boeki is their support of peaceful global relationships though business. Lastly, Shoji Komei states Mitsubishi’s dedication to integrity over profitability.

The division that is responsible for mini split A/C systems is technically titled Mitsubishi Electric. Mini splits are made and distributed by the cooling & heating subdivision of Mitsubishi Electric. Their official website is http://www.mitsubishicomfort.com .

Mitsubishi makes some of the most popular mini split air conditioner systems out there. They first started doing business in the USA all the way back in 1980. Mitsubishi Electric introduced their Mr. Slim line of products in 1982 and are still selling them. It is technically a heat pump not just a mini split ac but they are of a similar design and provide a similar functions. Heat pumps are more geared toward cold climates rather than hot climates because they provide heat as well as cooling. A mini split a/c will provide cooling only. Here is a video directly from Mitsubishi that goes into detail about how their Mr. Slim heat pump works. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QovhagNTyaE

They continued to expand their heat pump line in the 1990’s with the introduction of the
MXZ line. This was a product that was designed to heat more than one room. In fact you can use this product today to provide heating to up to eight total rooms.

Today Mitsubishi has many different options to choose from. They sell both indoor and outdoor units separately so you can create the solution that is best for your home. Mitsubishi Electric now has mini split ac only units as well as full heat pump systems.

Pioneer Mini Split Systems

The Pioneer mini split brand is owned by Parker Davis HVAC Systems is one of world’s many producers of heating and cooling products. This organization is one of the biggest providers of inexpensive ductless mini splits in the USA. They have been operating as Pioneer since 1995.

Pioneer is often confused as being related to the Pioneer Electronics Corporation that is so well known for stereo equipment and other common electronics. They are not related at all. It’s easy to understand how someone could get confused but upon further investigation you will learn that they don’t even share a common history. Pioneer Electronics is a Japanese corporation and Parker Davis, the owner of the Pioneer mini split brand is headquartered in Miami.

Pioneer makes a few small-scale split units with 12,000 BTU option being one of them. A decent amount of Pioneer units have a heat pump so you can heat and cool your home with one unit. You can watch a review on one of the split units, the Pioneer Ductless Mini Split AC 12000btu here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xg0KODch9g

Pioneer brand heat pump systems come in a range of capabilities; from 9000BTU to 48000BTU per hour. They use an inverter setup with a multi-speed compressor, which helps with making higher efficiency levels. All Pioneer ductless mini splits include a wireless digital remote controller that allows users to easily select between the multiple operating modes. Also there is an automatic mode that allows for fully automatic function through the mini split computer.

One of Pioneer’s Newest Designs is the Pioneer WYS Series Ductless Wall Mount Mini Split System. It was engineered for unrivaled efficiency.
